Biography

Abdul Karim Abdullah is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Culture Management Group (CMG), an
African focused media management company introducing a diverse and innovative perspective to the
African event space. CMG is also the parent company for Afrochella Festival, an annual event located in
Accra, Ghana. Afrochella is designed to elevate the thrilling and thriving talent from and within Africa. The
festival exists to foster engagement, to boost tourism within Ghana and Africa at large by providing a
space for the diaspora to celebrate culture through the various mediums of African music, food, art and
fashion.
Through CMG’s incredible impact on Ghana and the African continent as a whole, Abdullah and team were
recently named Goodwill Ambassador of Tourism to Ghana to help promote the country’s tourism
globally. As one of the most celebrated cultural moments in Ghana, Afrochella has the exciting challenge
of bringing 20,000 travelers to the country and plans to make Ghana the premier destination for all
travelers around the world. Since its inception, Afrochella has brought over 35,000 global travelers to
Ghana, generated over 3 million in tourism revenue and economic support, created over 5,000 jobs for
locals, and has donated over $25,000 in charitable donations towards health and water initiatives.
Abdullah holds a BS in Psychology, Biology from Syracuse University and a Masters in Public Health from
CUNY Hunter College. He and Afrochella have been featured in several media publications such as BBC,
CNN, Essence, Vogue, GQ etc. Abdul is a native New Yorker that currently lives in Bronx, New York.
